    .dat files?

    I was playing MineCraft on someone's server and he had to go, but my friend and I had made some cool things so I asked if it was possible to save the file. He said he could email it to me so he did. It is a .dat file and I have no idea how to open it. I've tried google but I can't find any explanations. Can someone help?

    You open it with the OME editor, or anyother Minecraft editor.

    I don't understand how to work the OME editor. :/ Everything seems to be working fine but how do I actually do anything in it? >.<

    Set up your own server. The .dat file is used by the server software.

    if you're trying to run a program, you're going to need to put the .dat in the same root directory as the .exe

    you may also need the .cfg text file in the same directory
