    Uncontrolable Scrolling

My screen keeps on scrolling up and down, uncontrolably. I can't stop it. I've run several virus scans with Norton and I've done a system restore, neither of which have proven to be successful. Can someone PLEASE help me?

What happens when you take the mouse out of contact with anything?

What do you mean? Physically unplug the mouse?

This happened to me a while ago. It just stopped at one point. I don't remember how it got fixed.

It doesn't do it all the time. It usually goes for about 5 minutes, then there's 5 minutes of nothing. It's reeaally bugging me > I've Google'd for answers and none of the solutions I've found have worked.

I'd say it's something to do with the mouse/tablet/touchpad; my mouse used to sometimes uncontrollably go to the corner of the screen. Replace whatever you're using to control the cursor.

Make sure no buttons are being held down, or are sticky, like on your tablet (if you have one), you haven't got something resting on the scroll button.

Otherwise, unplug your mouse or replace it. It's worth opening your current mouse, to see if anything looks out of place on the circuit board...

It might be this: When you click your scroll wheel in, it makes your mouse movements scroll the page, and that could probably be the problem? But I think it turns off when you click.

Just try downloading mouse drivers for it.
