    Win 7 Startup

Hey guys, recently i brought home a memory stick with a virus on it my fucktard school network administrators fail to kill, it appears to have raped my laptop's startup, i'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and when i turn my laptop on (safe mode or no) when it gets to the login screen it's just pitch black and only my cursor remains, if formatting my laptop will fix it i'm not bothered, but how would i go about that? and would reinstalling windows 7 with a clean install fix it?

Go into BIOS and change your 1st boot selection to the CD Drive.
