    360 controller problem

I was just playing some Team Fortress 2 on my Xbox 360 earlier, I had just headshot this engineer scrub when all of a sudden I hear a strange *zap* on my headset. Right after that the lights on my controller all lit up and it turned off, and then when I tried turning it back on the controller would start up and quickly go off again. I waited about an hour after that and I tried turning on my 360 again, the controller was working just fine but when I plugged in my headset onto the controller I heard the *zap* again and the same thing happened. Any idea what I should do?

I suggest getting a new headset, if the controller doesn't work properly with the current one. I've never heard of this problem before, though. :/

Did you try changing the battery?
    Lol, I'm just making sure.

Anyways, I believe the problem lies within your controller.

    Re: 360 controller problem

I doubt the controller is the problem. I tried turning on the 360 and using my other controller and it was working fine until I plugged the headset into that one then the same thing happened. I do feel kind of dumb now though since I didn't even think about changing the batteries, lol. I'll try that once I get the chance and see if it works.

Seems like the problem is your headset. Buy a new headset and see if that works. If the problem continues to happen, it may be the headset jack.

    Re: 360 controller problem

Because the headset requires the controller and batteries in order to work. This does happen with older electronic items, like a laptop, the battery will slowly lose it longitivity. So possibly your headset "shortcircuited" and now drains the battery.

    Re: 360 controller problem

Well this is odd, I tried on new batteries and put the other ones I was using back to recharge. As I was using the new batteries, the controller would go off whenever I did something loud in game, like using a shotgun or a sniper rifle. I took off those batteries and I decided to try back on the old batteries I was using before, after I put those on it was working perfectly and it has been so far. I have no clue why it's working now but I guess this case is solved, so I you can lock this unless something happens then I guess I'll ask for an unlock.

OK then. If the problem continues, just PM a staff member for an unlock.
