    Cursor Problem

The cursor is moving around by itself on the moniter (not all the time but frequently). This isn't really affecting the computer but it's quite annoying. Assistance?

Added info: The cursor moves crazily.

Did you try messing with the mouse settins? Right click the desktop, and go to properties/personalize and go to 'Mouse Pointers' and try changing the speed, or the actual pointer. It might be a little different getting to it in XP, if that's what you have. If that doesn't work, maybe try unplugging the mouse and plugging it back in.

Everything's fine now. But I have a feeling it might happen again. I'll update the cursor status later. What causes this to happen?

What kind of mouse is it? Optical? Ball?

If it's optical, chances are there's a bit of hair or something over the lazer. Used to happen to me. Just blow into the red light and it should be fine.

If it's a ball mouse, consider getting a new mouse :P

Yeah, I have an optical mouse. Though, I don't think dust or hair's causing it.

Does this also happen when you hold your mouse in the air? If not, the problem is your mouse. If it happens when you hold it in the air, try to check if the cable fits correctly.
