    incredibly slow torrent download

So I was using bittorrent to download a 978 MB size file and it got to about 70% going at a decent download speed but then it dropped to less then 1kB/s and hasn't gone up again except for when I unpaused the download after turning on my computer again and that was only for a few minutes

    can anyone help?

the upload speed is also very slow

Forward the ports that the torrent client uses.

All I can suggest is the obvious, use as little internet as possible whilst it is downloading, or, you could try contacting your supplier? (without telling them it's from an illegal website, lol).

(whilst we're on the topic of downloading from websites, the other day we were downloading 3 films, each one said it was going to take 3 or 4 years, lmfao)

Oh bittorrent. I dunno the ports for it so sorry, unless someone else knows you're outta luck.

I'd suggest switching to uTorrent, it forwards ports for you when you install.

    Re: incredibly slow torrent download

If you know that the download has multiple parts to it, if you looked at a site that provides you with Megaupload or Rapidshare links, I'd say use JDownloader because it downloads all the parts for you in about half the time.

However, if you aren't, I'd say just use uTorrent, because I've encountered the same issue as you when I would download add-ons for GMod or I'd download old games.

Go with his suggestion, uTorrent is far superior. It's only like fucking .23 MB as well.
