    Putting songs in flash.

Wasn't sure if I should put this in flash section so I just came here, but anyway-

I'm trying to import a song into flash at school so I can make an animation synched to it a bit. It won't let me load the mp3, though saying that it couldn't read the file. Teacher told me it couldn't load mp3s, yet I've seen many flashes with full length songs. So how do I go about doing this? Does it have to be a different file type or something?

Alright, thanks Skype. Hopefully I can find something that isn't blocked off or something. I could just do it at home and e-mail the file to myself.

If it's above 160kbps Flash uses QT to load the sound, you need the latest version of QT.

Flash can do MP3's, I convert all my WMAs into MP3s

If you haven't found a free converter yet, this one isn't blocked at my school, I use it all the time:

True but the file size can get quite large with MP3s. I prefer to use .wav it doesn't sound horrible and the file size is reasonable.

Uh, MP3 has way better compression than wav. Wav has bigger file sizes than MP3.

I use Audacity if I need to convert my sound files to MP3 or WAV.

Well I tried converting at home but it didn't work for some reason, I'll have to play with it or something.

Is Audacity a free download or am I going to have to pay for it and such?
I also have no idea if the school computers have the latest QT version.
