    Auto thread lock?

(This goes in the suggestion center If you cant already tell...)

With all the noobs and shit here that are to stupid/lazy to read the rules and bump threads why dont we have an auto locker for threads? When it turns a week old it automatically locks. Besides the tuts and help center of course for questions and such.. And make it able to be turned off via mod+... Just in case.

    Agrees?
    Disagrees?

    Re: Auto thread lock?

It's been brought up before. It'd be fairly difficult to implement as far as I know and could potentially create more trouble than it's worth considering some bumps are legitimate and it's good for real people to be able to judge what should and shouldn't be locked.

Disagree. There are exceptions to the bumping rule like a post that was actually worth having the thread bumped for. The rule seems to be getting more and more loose these days, plus what if an animator wants their thread unlocked at some point if the bump would otherwise go unnoticed? That'd be more fuss for the staff.

To put it short; no. Some bumps are legit and so auto-locking at a week would be stupid. Mods do a fine job of handling the locking.
