    Red ring of death.

So just recently, my xbox suddenly overheated and gave me to flashing red lights. I've searched the internet and i've tried a couple of suggestions (wrapping it in towels and cleaning the fan) So I took my xbox apart and cleaned the fan which was pretty dirty, put it back together and I could play for about 5 minutes before it switched itself off again.

Also, my warranty's ran out. Any help?

    Kill yourself.

Or you could try mailing it back to Microsoft. If it's an earlier model they're usually pretty good about fixing stuff up. If they don't do it for free they'll probably give a reasonable price.

The "towel" trick fucks your xbox in the long run. Good job fucking it up.

    Buy a PS3.

To be honest I probably would get a ps3 if all my friends weren't on Xbox.

I'm not so sure your Xbox will be the same way, but my Xbox "red rings" every other week and comes back to normal after leaving it untouched for a day. Other than that, you could just mail it into Microsoft and see if they can solve the issue.
