    Strange internet problems.

Something is wrong with my internet connection, i'm supposed to have a 25mbps connection, and on this computer, i'm only getting 2mbps - 4mbps on every internet speed test.

The technician came and tested it on his laptop and got 27.3mbps, so its not the connection itself, it has to be something to do with my computer. I tested it on my Mom's laptop and i got 28.4mbps.

    So what the hell.

    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

If you're using a USB router or something similar it could be that. When i got mine replaced with a newer one I saw a huge speed increase.

It's just a normal router, and the computer i'm using is directly connected.

You mean your computer is directly connected to the modem with an Ethernet cable? If that's the case I'm clueless, lol.

    Yeah.

It's really annoying. I'm pretty sure its something to do with the computer, but I've ran multiple virus and spyware scans and i haven't found anything there.

I've been posting on other computer-support forums but of course they take about 92 years to reply.

The age of the computer could affect it, my internet is going slow because my computer is deemed obsolete.

My computers pretty new, 2.67ghz i7 core, 12gb of ram, 1tb drive, 1gb nvidia gtx 285. It's pretty well specced so i'm certain thats not the problem.

    Re: Strange internet problems.

Is it a new problem, or has it kinda tapered off over time? Also, did you make any new changes, reformated, installed some new hardware or software? I know my internet is always super slow after I format my hard drive, until I get this really obscure driver, then its fine. And what in the world do you need 12 GB of RAM for???
