    W7 Problem *Resolved

I just reinstalled W7 Ultimate 32bit, but when trying to change the window color I don't get a screen that looks like this

but one that looks like this

I am thinking this is a update problem because when I try to change the power settings, I don't get this

    but this

^ Notice the lack of a "Change when the computer sleeps" icon in the circled area, apposed to the first image.

Can anyone identify the problem here? Much appreciated if you do.

Your version of windows 7 does not have the aero theme. You are running home basic.

No I am running Ultimate for sure. Again, I think it is something with the updates because I had these options before re-installation.

E-I can't find anything about it on google, bing, yahoo, nothing.

    Re: W7 Problem

Thanks very much, that explains the Aero not working. But another problem was the Power Management with the lack of a "Change when the computer sleeps" option.

Note- I was able to change the Window color before installing drivers for my ATI 5770 on the last install, but this time I have to install the drivers and only then I will be able to make use of Aero? I am confused about this.

Resolved - I was manually downloading updates, but reinstall OS again and didn't touch any updates and let automatic updating do the job for me. I install graphics driver, Firefox, the usual, and it fixed the problem.
