    err... css problem!

    Ok, to start this off. I am near finishing my cousins personal training site (i'm his webmaster). So, i'm almost finished creating the page, BUT...

    style.css has only ONE command that ie cannot comprehend with. (in the buisness world, lots of people look through ie). And that is the

    body {
    crap: blah;
    crap: blah;
    width: 700px;
    crap: blah;
    }

    i tried multiple times to get it to work with internet explorer without success.... (firefox works FINE, stoopid ie)

    so my question is. Is there a way to shrink the width of the body in the html file like:

    <body width=700> (yeah, definately not. =J)
    or is there supposed to be a style tag in the <head></head> section.
    If so please tell me. Appreciated!

    From what I can see you are trying to do its totally wrong from a coders point of view, width attribute on a body tag? that just isnt right. <style types and tags go inside the <head> </head> sections along with CSS style sheet importants.

    style.css has only ONE command
    There are no commands in CSS.

    I suggest revising your coding, and redo it in a more logical format. Read CSS's website or work to CSS standards to me it just looks like you are throwing code together without no idea what your doing.

    sorry i ment coding not command.

    Heres what i said more short specific

    Ok, in firefox i open up the page and the page is centered and the layout snaps together like a magnet. Because it understood the coding in style.css:

    ---|.left....|.right..............................|---
    ---|..........|.......................................|---
    ---|..........|.......................................|---
    ---|..........|.......................................|---
    ---|..........|.......................................|---
    ---|..........|.......................................|---
    ---|..........|.......................................|---
    ---|..........|.......................................|---
    ---|..........|.......................................|---
    ---|..........|.......................................|---
    ________________________________________

    meanwhile in ie the body width command in css does not comprehend with ie:

    |.left....|------.right..............................|
    |..........|------.......................................|
    |..........|------.......................................|
    |..........|------.......................................|
    |..........|------.......................................|
    |..........|------.......................................|
    |..........|------.......................................|
    |..........|------.......................................|
    |..........|------.......................................|
    |..........|------.......................................|
    ________________________________________

    What i mean is that the two sections are streched to each side leaving a huge gap in the middle.

    The body width thing was just a little example of how much confusion ie has caused me. And yeah, i was pretty sure that the code would be in the head tag but i wasn't sure what it would be.

    Now, what would be the code to fix this problem because i have seen 50 million people never go through this problem.

    you meant coding?

    so style.css has only 1 coding. Doesnt make sense.

    Also IE and FF use different rendering engines, hence they read browsers differently. 50 million other people never go through this problem give me a break.

    Why not read

    http://www.bluerobot.com/web/css/center1.html

    Really simple google searchs can do your problem dont expect us just to bring a quick fix, I'm not insulting you or anything but look

    Now, what would be the code to fix this problem

    your not actually polite, so why should I provide a fix. Really.

    Sorry if its just your way, and how you speak on the internet, its hard to tell what people are like reading text i'm sure you understand, so dont take offensive it appears harsh just what i'm picking up what you said, just read the suggestion I posted, I'm personally shifting to CSS more and more, although it takes longer specically if you want it to be valid.

    yes, it's just i'm under a time limit here and i'm sorry if i did not sound polite but really thanks so far.

    I think its just a little misunderstanding, like i made a spelling error or something and i just need to clear it up or i am not writing the div id's correctly.

    Maybe i should just let you see the stuff in a screenshot.
    I don't really see anything wrong..

    CSS
    HTML

    FIREFOX
    IE

    Yeah, maybe i shouldn't have wrote down all that css, lol im a dumbass.

    The images are not included in the zip, so you probably won't see them.
    Otherwise it should look like the two screenshots in my last post.

    I've had a quick look over your code, and its a gonna be a big job to code it up to strach I recommend coding to a CSS standard that way you carnt really fail its a hard task keeping everything valid but its the only way if you want it to render correctly in both IE and FF.
