Some help deciding on a Processor and Video Card

This is probably the 3rd thread I make about this, but whatever lol.
    Specs

I've finally gotten the money (about 600$) to upgrade my desktop, and I'm mostly thinking about upgrading to a new Processor and Video Card, so I'm looking for the best deals.

Right now I think the I7-860, 870, or 950 are the best deals, at 199 or 230.

    950 - http://www.microcenter.com/single_produ ... id=0346210

For the video card I couldn't really find anything yet, so anyone know what the best video card option would be (200-300$). I alsounderstand that my case is too small, so I'm willing to change it as well, though I image it'd be a pain in the ass :|

Also, are there any requirements for replacing a processor, or can you pretty much just do it?
My dad's a computer technician, so he can help me replace everything

[s:lol3noqn]Buy a whole new computer with your $600.[/s:lol3noqn]

Oh I didn't look at how much ram you had. Replacing the processor is easy if you're not an idiot. If your dad knows what he's doing, get him to do it for you.

As for video card, get a 5000 ATI series or a GTX/S 200 series.

Ati 5770 HD if you want the best price/performance ratio, although if you can get a 5850, it'll suit you well for a long time. I can't help you with the cpu, since my knowledge only extends to AMD.

If you want a cheap video card, then get nVidia GeForce 8600 GT. It has 512 MB DDR2 memory. It costs about 30$ so it's quite cheap. If you want something better, then get nVidia GeForce 9800 GT 1GB. It costs about 130$.
For a processor, get Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 3 GHz 1333MHz 6 MB LGA775 CPU BX80570E8400. It costs about 150$.

Total waste of money to acquire a 9800 GT, and I'm assuming that he wants to upgrade it in order to play (Taking a look at the budget) So getting a 8600 would be a waste as well, since it already is an outdated card.
