    Antivirus suggestions?

I'm looking for a new antivirus. Preferably not very memory-hungry, and.. good .

I've heard good things about Nod32.

    Re: Antivirus suggestions?

As long as you've got a genuine copy of Windows, I'd say go for Microsoft Security Essentials. It's lightweight, seems to work just swell and I've heard nothing bad about it. You can get it for XP, Vista too, it's not exclusive to W7 as you originally thought.

Another option is Avira, which I've used in the past. Very light and efficient too.

AVG is being a real fine virus scanner.
I think it is pretty lightweight, it uses about 13.000KB
The free version is actually already being good enough, though its a 30 day trial, you can reinstall it as many times as you want, and the trial starts over again(takes about 5 minutes)

If you really like AVG, i suggest you buy it, or visit *once

    AVG is wank.

Avira, Avast or nod for anti vir.
    Malwarebytes or ad-aware for malware.
    Spybot S&D.

Pretty much as safe as your PC is gonna get.

My exact setup, Avira is great for sorting out false-positives and can pretty much handle anything you throw at it (rogues, trojans, rootkits, etc.)

Spyware Doctor is good to defend against spyware.
Malwarebytes for adware and malware etc.
Avast or Avira are both good.
