    Harware exeleration in windows 7

I recently upgraded my OS to windows 7 from XP. I have everything that I had when I had XP and Id like to see if I still have my minecraft files. But when I start minecraft This pops up:

    Bad video card drivers!
    -----------------------

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

    --- BEGIN ERROR REPORT 7fe0271 --------
    Generated 12/17/10 11:02 PM

    Minecraft: Minecraft Alpha v1.2.6
    OS: Windows 7 (x86) version 6.1
    Java: 1.6.0_23, Sun Microsystems Inc.
VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (mixed mode), Sun Microsystems Inc.
    LWJGL: 2.4.2
    etc..

Now, I already know how to fix this. Turn up the hardware acceleration on my monitor settings. But when I go to do that I have this:

    Anyone know?

Update your graphics card drivers, first. Has your account got admin priviliges? If it doesn't you'd best sort that out. That shield means that you have to be an administrator to mess with the settings in there. If none of this works, or isn't helpful then post again and I'll see if I can help.

Has your account got admin priviliges, and when you downloaded the drivers was there anything that could be used as a "control center" afaik? If so, go through there and see what you can do.
To check if you have admin rights: Control Panel> User Accounts and Family Safety> User Accounts
then look at your account and it should say there if you're admin or not.
