    ripping dvd's onto your computer

i've got a couple of dvd's that i would like to save onto my computer and post online.
i have handbrake, which sort of does the job, but it converts the file into an mp4, not wmv.
so are there any good programs that can rip sections of dvd's to be uploaded onto eg. youtube?

Why not just pull clips from the mp4 you already ripped with video editing software like Sony Vegas?

I would, but for some reason the mp4 file does not contain any sound.

Google Magic DVD Ripper, it should help you and gives you the option to format it to like an iPod or PSP.

    Isn't this illegal?

I'm sure I could be wrong but if you're redistributing something for the cost of nothing surely the original producers of the content are losing out on money?

Apologies if I am incorrect but it might be wise to check it up just in case.

He never said what content was on the DVD. It could be perfectly legal.

But surely the content on the DVD itself would be irrelevant providing he was redistributing it for free as the original creator would ultimately be losing out?

Unless the content was his own or already available for free and he just wanted to put it on youtube or something.
