    Softening Lighting Within Sony Vegas

I feel really dumb asking this question since I've used Sony Vegas for years now and I know how to work the program and all; however, this really has me stumped.

I'm starting to produce short films for my channel and me being the idiot that I am forgot to soften the lighting from the lights that I was using to film my Nintendo shelf for the introduction. Now when I look back at the footage, the wood that the shelf is made of is producing a harsh glare that looks absolutely distracting. Is there any sort of plugin or something I can do in the post-production stage to get rid of the glare or am I going to have to go back and re-shoot the footage that I already got for that particular shot?

Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about:

Feel free to add me, just let me know who you are.

I don't know specifics in Vegas but using colour correction along side masking should produce the desired effect.
