    Team Fortress 2 Ping Issue

On most servers I connect and play, my TF2 ping never goes over 50.
Nice Pants invited me to a certain server that required some files to be downloaded. I waited, everything went smooth etc etc.

I started playing. My ping, locked at 151. I got automatically kicked by the server, due to the ping limit being set to 150.

Are there any useful console commands that could help reduce it?

I don't think you can lower your ping with commands, pretty sure it all depends on where the server is stationed and your Internet connection.
Shut down all other programs which take up bandwidth while playing.

Btw, if you'd like to play sometime add Cavolia to your friend-list on steam.

Ping is how long it takes in milliseconds for packets to be sent/received from the destination server. The further away the server is from your, the higher your ping is going to be. When looking for TF2 servers sort by ping and look for low latency servers (these are closer to you/have better connections).

Make sure applications and anything else that uses the internet are closed. If you have a weak connection, family being on the net while you're playing will cause issues. I used to lag in online games when my sister used youtube and shit.

Failing that, could be a port issue, or that you just have really crappy internet.

Or that the server is slow and/or far away, in which case you can't to much about it.

Have you tried some manual tips to lower down your ping?
No means,Try to keep in mind the following steps.
1.Don't open any videos, stream and check if there any problem in your router.
2.Make sure there's no browser .exe's still running in task manager
3.Try to contact your internet service provider and get suitable data plan.
4.Use any software like Game Booster
    5.Move closer to server
I am sure,if you follow the rules, you will get chance to reduce your ping rate. Finally you can check your new ping using WhoisXY.com

balurama this thread is over a year old, it's good you're trying to help out but I imagine VginaDinahr's sorted it out by now.
