    External Hard Drive

About 2 hours ago my external hard drive was working perfectly fine and normal. I come back from the pub, and plug it in and the LED light which indicates it is on, does not flash, and the hard drive does not show up in my list of devices with removable storage. It had not moved since I left for the pub, nor had it been touched or dropped. It simply just stopped working. If anyone has any suggestions on ways I can fix this (the obvious one being taking it to a shop to have it looked at, [suggested by Krust <3]), then i would love to hear them. Thanks Dark Demon!

Just re-plug untill it works again. I have this from time to time and it doesn't make any sense.

What is it? Seagate, WD, Toshiba, etc. External hard drives have a surprisingly high failure rate. Western Digital especially.
