    Gymnastics

What are some great conditioning techniques for gymnastics? I'm doing gymnastics for the first time and need some help to becoming flexible over the summer. I'm 13 and my dad is going to be my coach I need some thing I'm capable of doing.

    I'm not a "Gymnast" but I trick and I:
go to the gym and work legs, arms, cardio, and core at least twice a week for 1 hour
tumble/trick at least once a week for 2 hours

    if you need non-gym exercises:
"Rebound pose" (helps you get more air out of roundoff) - lay on your back and elevate arms/legs at a 20-30 degree angle.
"burpees" (helps you get a better jump) - tough to explain. google it.
    regularly do situps/push ups/pull ups
remember to train basic skills every day or at least as often as you can to get them really good. backflips/cartwheels/roundoffs/backhandsprings if possible. yurchenkos if you do vault, and giants and a few easy dismounts if you do high bar.

[s:131mzytl]For me, I would suggest you to look at the gymnast-video-thingies frame by frame, and try to imitate and analyze how the body works through this and that. You can try imitating... or copying the video, although such act is heavily frowned upon here (unless it goes unnoticed)

Try to imitate some videos, and you'll soon pick it up yourself.

But before all of those above, of course you have to know about the basics. How to animate this and that.[/s:131mzytl]

i dont know how to read

    Re: Gymnastics

First of all, do you have gymnastic equipment like bars and trampolines available? Second, are you a guy or a girl? Exercises differ quite a lot depending on your gender.
