    File names in Address bar

    How do I take out the file names in the address bar of my pages?

    What I mean is...for instance, when a page loads up, the address bar says something like:
    Code:
    www.mywebsite.com/Home/index.html
    How do I make it say:
    Code:
    www.mywebsite.com/Home/
    using HTML code or CSS.

    Make a folder called "home" and put a file called index.html/php/htm in there, then navigate to www.yoursite.com/home and it will display as home rather than the /index.ex

    That method is pretty good, but personally I wouldn't want to clutter my server with a bunch of nearly empty folders.

    You could probably make use of the .htaccess file and simply change the permalink structure.

    It's not clutter imo, everything would be organised. It'd all be relative to the index too which is good.

    It worked....I don't really understand your method ,VD....sounds like FTP or something which I'm not familiar with. Anyways, lock this.

    Mod rewrite in htaccess is probably the way I'd deal with it. Considering it doesn't bring about any physical footprint and you have central control over url structures. Worth a read up on at least.

    Any file management uploader should suffice providing permissions are set on the server.

    Rem your being a moron for the sake of it, and you know I won't tolerate it.

    I'm adding my 2 cents to a solution which is far more managable. I didn't lock it in case he had any further questions about it which may require more help. It reduces the chance of having two possible threads being created.

    Perhaps you ougt to go back to droidz and use your poor staffing skills there.

    I don't have any other questions. Google answered everything else.
